Congratulations to Harki Group Members

Jordan, Hannah, Sam

Congratulations to Harki group members that recently received awards! Jordan Baur (College of Pharmacy, Dean's Research Award), Hannah Skopec (Ole Gisvold Medicinal Chemistry Award), Sam Syberg (Summer UROP Fellowship) and Tommy Millunchick (Summer UROP Fellowship; not pictured).

Research Interests

Research in the Harki laboratory focuses on the design, synthesis and biological characterization of novel small molecules, peptides, and oligonucleotides that influence cellular function. We frequently pursue projects involving the development of chemical matter against nucleic acid-interacting proteins for applications in anticancer and antiviral drug discovery.

Our core science is organic chemistry. We also use techniques of modern biochemistry, biophysics, and cellular/molecular biology to evaluate the biological activities of the compounds we synthesize. Our group aspires to develop efficacious and safe compounds with developmental potential.
